After 20 years in journalism, Mrs. McNall produced the Respectful Ways (RW) social emotional learning program and online educator support tool. Hiring a team of educators and tech experts to help develop the program, together they designed RW’s digital platform offering trauma-informed SEL modules for K-12 schools and afterschool programs.
Respectful Ways helps educators teach emotional intelligence such as Respect, Perseverance, Responsibility and Compassion using research-based interactive activities, turn-key lesson plans, original music & poetry, and classroom management tools. Mrs. McNall hosts online and in-person Professional Development workshops on trauma-informed learning and SEL.
As a veteran journalist, she has covered some of the world’s most compelling news stories including both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, Hurricane Katrina, U.S. election coverage, and the September 11th terrorist attacks. She is the recipient of a number of journalism awards including two Emmys, a President’s Award and two Peabodys.
